Aleph Hospitality, Hilton to Open Kenya’s First Tapestry Collection Hotel

Aleph Hospitality has signed a management deal with AVA Hotel Limited to operate Kenya’s first Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, marking a major milestone in the global hotel chain’s expansion into the local lifestyle segment.

The new hotel, to be known as AVA Hotel Nairobi, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, will be located in the upmarket Lavington area, minutes from the city centre. The 91-room facility will feature multiple restaurants and lounges, a rooftop area, swimming pool, fitness centre, meeting rooms, and a business hub, catering to both business and leisure travellers.

The agreement strengthens Aleph Hospitality’s position as one of the fastest-growing independent hotel management companies in the Middle East and Africa, and signals its deepening investment in East Africa’s tourism and hospitality sector.

“We are honoured to have been entrusted with the management of AVA Hotel Nairobi, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and proud to introduce Kenya’s first Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel,” said Bani Haddad, Founder and Managing Director of Aleph Hospitality. “Our partnership with Hilton is built on shared values — delivering exceptional guest experiences while ensuring strong returns for owners.”

Hilton, which plans to nearly triple its footprint in Africa to over 160 trading hotels in the coming years, said the Nairobi project is part of its broader strategy to diversify its portfolio and meet evolving guest preferences.

“We are delighted to partner with AVA Hotel Limited to bring our lifestyle Tapestry Collection brand to Kenya,” said Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Chief Development Officer for the Middle East and Africa.

The Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand is known for its independent, design-led hotels that retain local character while benefiting from Hilton’s global standards. Once operational, AVA Hotel Nairobi will join the Hilton Honors loyalty programme, offering members access to exclusive benefits, including points, discounts, and digital check-in services.

The entry of Tapestry Collection into Kenya is expected to deepen competition in Nairobi’s upper midscale hotel segment, as global chains continue to expand into the capital to tap rising demand from business travellers and high-end domestic tourism.
